Voluntary Benefit Plans

We represent quality insurance carriers who specialize in payroll deduction plans. Our carrier partners offer not only exceptional products but also provide a wide variety of options and specialty riders that can result in a tailor-made program for your employees.

  • Universal and Whole Life Insurance
    Permanent life insurance plans are the cornerstone of every good voluntary benefits package. NBGA provides you with choices in life insurance options, ranging from high death benefits (Universal Life Insurance) to guaranteed value (Whole Life Insurance). All of our plans provide traditional riders, and some offer Long Term Care riders, as well. Nearly all of the carriers NBGA works with offer Guaranteed Issue underwriting for employees and their family members – this means there is no medical underwriting on eligible employees!
  • Short Term/Long Term Disability
    Our programs provide protection against financial hardship through illness or injury, both on or off the job. Benefit periods can range from 90 days to age 65, both on a group or individual voluntary basis, and can cover up to 60% of employees’ monthly salary.
  • Critical Illness
    Critical illness insurance provides financial protection against serious, life-threatening illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, major organ transplant, permanent paralysis, end stage renal failure, or coronary bypass surgery. Employees may choose various face amounts, ranging from $5,000 to $100,000. Many carriers we work with offer additional and/or re-occurrence benefits.
  • Cancer Insurance
    We provide voluntary plans for cancer and other dread diseases. Through a wide range of insurance carriers, we have assembled plans that pay employees directly should they be diagnosed with cancer or other covered diseases. These plans provide benefits where group health coverage usually stops and pay in addition to medical and disability plans.
  • Accident Plans
    These portable plans provide cash benefits if employees and/or their covered family members are involved in an accident. Coverage options include 24-hour or off-the-job-only coverage. The schedule of benefits can cover hospital admission, surgery, emergency room admission, ambulance, burns, physical therapy, and much more.
  • Legal Plan Benefit
    Legal service plans are designed to meet the most common legal needs encountered by employees and their families. Plan benefits emphasize preventive legal care to help keep minor legal problems from becoming serious or financially devastating. Almost half the employees who take time off from work do so to deal with problems that are legal-related.
  • Limited Medical Plans
    Adapted for employees who are part-time or who want to move away from high cost / high deductible plans, Limited Medical Plans offer employees basic medical coverage options. Limited medical benefits include doctor office visits, pharmacy benefits, and surgery benefits, all with a reduced lifetime maximum.
  • Long Term Care
    Long Term Care provides nursing coverage in the home or in a licensed facility when someone needs assistance with activities of daily living. The monthly facility benefit includes professional nursing or home health care, with an array of choices for the benefit duration. The LTC plan is available to the family of the employee, and in some cases coverage can be extended to the parents and grandparents of the employee. Guaranteed Issue coverage is also available provided minimum participation requirements are met.
  • Executive Carve Out Plan
    These plans are designed to appeal to the special needs of highly compensated or key management personnel. Plans include high value life insurance and disability plans.

Group Benefit Plans

We can assist employers in the design and implementation of both employer paid and voluntary group coverage. We have preferred relationships with several insurance carriers who specialize in the hospital market. Our relationships enable us to receive competitive rates on group coverages. Coverages include basic term life, supplemental term life, short-term disability, and long-term disability.

  • Basic and Supplemental Term
    We can provide plans that match your current design or provide improved design options. Supplemental Term plans can include spouse and child coverage, and can have value added benefits attached – such as seatbelt provisions and educational benefits for family survivors.
  • Short Term Disability
    We offer plans with elimination period options from as little as 7 days and benefit options of up to 5 years. On and off the job coverage is available.
  • Long Term Disability
    Featuring a large selection of elimination period options, with benefit periods lasting up to age 65. Our LTD plans can also offer management carve-out options for your key employees.
  • Group Dental
    Our dental carriers have both traditional indemnity and PPO options and also offer ASO services for large employers. Our superior carriers provide custom plan designs and excellent network coverage.
  • Group Vision
    Comprehensive eye care options with allowances for annual exams, lenses, frames, contact lenses, etc. We provide important network analyses to determine the best plan with the most network coverage for your employees
